Fun Places

Thing #23 THE END... for now

There where soo many exercises that I loved, soo many things that I learned. From the moment that I started I couldn't stop playing, I was even able to play with my daughter :)
How could I choose some of the "things" that I learned when everything one way or another where helpful and great ideas. I loved Delicious, Librarything.
It was so easy to get into almost all the exercises thanks to "in plain English". The only thing that I need it ore help with was uploading the video.
If the District continues to offer discovery programs like this, I would totally do it.
I will describe Library2play as an outstanding opportunity to learn at your own peace and take your time to explore with "things" that I enjoy more.

It was "FABULOUS"

Video confussion

Keep folowing the instructions to upload my video, but I can't do it. I will keep trying hopefully I will be able to upload it. I had the best pictures from this last school year, but then Could I post pictures of my kids online?

ninging

I had no idea of how many "Social networks" are out there. I tried with Educator ning didnt really got my attention. Then I went to teacher ning and it was sooo easy to find lesson ideas. I joined and found some cool ideas for second grade. Another great resource to share ideas.

Thing #20

I knew about You tube, but really never had interested in using it. I tried Teacher tube and thought it was good, but I dont know if I would use it in my classroom.

I Love "Love and Logic "

Thing #19-Awesome

Well.. What can I say about the SEOmoz's web. First I tried the spanishpod thinking that it was dcuments in spanish but it was spanish classes :(

Then I opened cocktail builder, no comments ;). AT this point I'm still listening to Pandora :)

Really, there is sooo much that I feel like a kid in a candy store :)

Thing #18

I liked Google Docs. I even found a family budget that I like better than the one Im currently using, More organized!!!!!
I want to play with my Love and Logic presentation and see what is the benefit of the google doc.

Rollyo-Thing #17

Here is my first searchroll. I love Science, so I started with some of my favorite kinder science websites :)

Thing #16

LOVE Wikis!.

How would I use it in my room? Well, I think that it would use it during a classroom investigation, maybe even as part of the computer center. The kiddos could investigate, add their findings, comments, questions to other posts. Also, I think it could be also good for team planning. This is for sure, going to save a lot of time.

Thing #15

It was very interesting to read those articles. I love to read but it's a little scaring to think that the whole concept of Library is going to change. I wonder would we get to the point in the future where there would only be virtual libraries??? I sure hope not!. Things change so rapidly that you have to stay active to catch up.

Thnig #14

Technorati not sure yet. I didn't find it that easy to follow. I prefer Flickr and delicious. They are easier to play with. I registered with Technorati and would try again later

Thing #13

OMG! I love to organize everything.

LOVE Delicious!!! but I found that it was difficult for me to import my favorites and then tag them. All my websites I think are inmy bookmarks, and now I'm trying to figure out how to tag them :)
Please see them, and tll me what you think.

Question about AVATAR

Why is it that I can't see my Avatar picture? but the link is still there.

Thanks

Thing 12

The first time I heard about Blogging was when my friend John got sick, and to keep everybody updated his sister in law decided to create a blog. I started to leave messages for him. Of course, I had no idea everything that is involved with blogging, and now I can't stop searching.
I want to search for Love and Logic groups and for groups that read about Rafe Esquith. SOOO FUN!!!!

Thing #11

I added some of the books that I love, I guess that's how I would add the books in my library from school and home.

http://www.librarything.com/catalog/gabby12_75

How can I add the picture of my own library thing????

Thing #11

I learned about Library thing from a coworker, and thought about adding all my books from home and school to the library during the summer, me and my mom even wrote down all the names because how many times have I found a book after the unit was over... Too many to count. But then, I realized that you need detail info from the books, live the ISBN publication year, brief description, etc. So, I think adding my books will be a work in progress :)

Thing #10

I love Big Huge Labs. I used it last year in my kinder class when we did Landforms my kiddos did a research on the landforms and then looked for pictures from Flickr and did Trading cards in Spanish. Also, when we studied Dinosaurs my kids did a Mosaic. I attached some of the pictures in past posts.

This time I was playing with cartoon strip generator. it was soo fun. I think my kids would enjoy that and would be able to use it now that I'm going to second grade :) :)

Here is the cartoon I did :)

Thing #9

•Which Search tool was the easiest for you?
Google search I thought it was the easiest,I also liked edublogs award winners.

•Which was more confusing?
Adding the websites that I like into Google reader.

•What kind of useful feeds did you find in your travels? Or what kind of unusual ones did you find?

I found good ideas from edublogs award winners, while I was searching for second grade ideas. LOVED the box of tricks and all the tech ideas they have in there. I'm a familiar with Animoto and I will try some of the other internet tools.

Thing #8

I Like RSS because is so convenient to have all the websites I always use together in one place. I would use it as out of jail free card in school when you dont have time to search everywhere for an idea or something specific and at home becuase we 2 girls Time is precious...
Sharing is the word that comes to my mind for the last question. Is easy to organize and share your favorite sites with other people.

I love Flickr.! I used last summer when I was working for the Social Studies department, we uploaded pictures for the SS kinder curriculum. Also, I used it last summer when I was working on the kindergarten Bilingual Centers.

I'm going to try to attach some of the work my kiddos did this las school year in Flickr. We did trading cards, Mosaic, and other cool stuff.

Thing #3

It was SOOOO much fun to do the "Avatar Gabby". My daughter Alisa and I play with it for a while until we both agreed on how I should look ;)
We both had to "compromise"

Thing #2

It was nice to listen to the tutorial. I'm actually doing the training with my mother, who is improving her English and she loves to use the internet. So I made a connection with the concept of Lifelong Learning and the power and desire for learning. I think that the easiest habit for me is # 2 "accept responsability for your own learning." I'm always looking for new books to read and new classes to take to improve myself as a teacher and as a mom.
The most challenging habit I think is #6, although I started using technology this year in my classroom with "Curriculum Wikki," using technology is still a work in process.
After listening to the whole tutorial, the Learning contract got my attention, but I believe it is something that requires a lot of thinking, and this is where I will use Habit #1 begin with the end in mind....
