Lawrence Kohlberg. Levels of Morality

I learned this in my GT training today with Ian Byrd and I LOVE IT. One of my focus with my kiddos this year, is going to be to increase their Level of Morality.

1) Punishment: lowest level of morality.
2) Rewards: They might receive reward- self-interest.
3) Please: Makes the teacher happy-conformity
4) Society: Understand the reason of a rule. Order
5) Democracy: The students can be part of the rule process. Compromise
6) Justice: The students over ride society rules. Personal code- civil disobedience.

Rafe Esquith

Rafe Esquith is the California Teacher that Wrote "Teach like your hair is on fire" and "No Shortchuts". I got my economy system from him. I LOVE what he does with his 5th grade class!!!!!

I actually have an economy system in my classroom that I adapted from his book. My kids love it the practice not only math and social studies, but they get a taste of the real word. I would admit is a lot of work to keep up with but is sooooo worth it. :)

If anybody wants to read the books, I have both :)

July 14th 2011

I have been playing with my school Ipod. I installed all the games that I thought were good for my babies. I registered for Study ladder, which is one of the programs that I like the best. The 11 tools talks about music, now I wonder what kind of music. I downloaded some classical music for writing time but I would like to know what other type of music are you guys downloading out there.......
I'm starting to download some science movies like camouflage, habitats, rocks, etc.

We'll see what else I find. :)
